The reporter recently learned from the Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Quanzhou, Fujian Province that from January to March this year, the inspection and quarantine departments of Quanzhou examined a total of 17,800 batches of export footwear with a value of 637 million U.S. dollars, the value of export footwear increased by 14.90% and the average unit price increased by 13.6%. Quanzhou shoes enterprises have gradually changed from "quantitative scale" to "quality and efficiency".
Statistics show that the average unit price of footwear exports in Quanzhou increased from US$4.84 in 2010 to US$5.5 in the first quarter of 2011, an increase of 13.6%.
Quanzhou shoe enterprises have actively adjusted their product mix and increased the value-added and technical content of their products. At present, more than 200 export companies have implemented and obtained ISO9000, ISO14000 and eco-textile certifications, and some of them have obtained national measurement inspection system certification, UK SATRA certification and CQC product certification. These certified shoe companies have doubled the average export price per pair of shoes, and the highest export price has reached 39 US dollars.
The quality of shoes has gone up, and the brand has been upgraded. Quanzhou shoe companies have also obtained the “golden key†to the international market. At present, more than 30 shoe-making enterprises have established alliances with international famous brands in production and marketing, Xtep, Anta, Peak. Quanzhou's many footwear companies have set up commercial organizations and specialty stores in more than 20 countries and regions such as the United States, Russia, and Southeast Asia.
At present, there are more than 2,000 export-oriented footwear companies in Quanzhou, which have formed a pattern from baby shoes to adult shoes, from sports shoes and slippers to leather shoes. The export volume of footwear accounts for about 50% of Fujian Province and 10% of the country. Quanzhou has become the second largest production base of world sports shoes in China.
