Xinjiang textile industry relies on the advantages of resource policies to strengthen the industrial chain

Xinjiang holds the top position in cotton production among the western provinces and autonomous regions. To build a dominant textile industry group and strengthen the industrial chain, Xinjiang has developed a strategic plan based on the regional distribution of textile raw materials, leveraging its geographical and resource advantages. The "Proposal for the Revitalization of Textile Industry in Xinjiang" outlines a vision that focuses on key areas, such as two cities—Shihezi and Aksu—and seven industrial parks: Kuitun, Korla, Kashgar, Bole, Hutubi, Shaya, and Bachu. This strategy is aligned with the concept of one central hub—the Urumqi International Textile Trade Center—as well as the principles of industrial parks, clusters, and integrated development. To foster growth, Xinjiang aims to innovate investment attraction mechanisms, maintain high standards, and attract large textile conglomerates. By supporting key enterprises and projects, the region seeks to promote the clustering of related industries, forming a strong, concentrated, and competitive industrial sector. These efforts are intended to turn the industrial parks into powerful engines driving the development of Xinjiang's textile industry. In addition, to expand and strengthen the cotton industry and further boost the textile sector, the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps allocated 100 million yuan in special funds from 2009 to 2010. This included a subsidy of 10,000 yuan for every 10,000 new cotton spindles. Additional support was also provided to enterprises engaged in weaving, printing, dyeing, and garment manufacturing, reinforcing the overall development of the textile industry in the region.
