Recently, the Shishi Fabric Association and the State Textile Products Development Center signed a cooperation memorandum aimed at supporting the 24th (autumn/winter 2011/12) China Popular Fabric Finalist event. Under this agreement, the Shishi Fabric Association will be responsible for collecting, screening, and recommending entries for the competition. This collaboration is designed to further drive product innovation and development among textile enterprises in industrial clusters, promoting industrial upgrading and optimizing product structures. For Shishi, it also provides an opportunity to introduce new fabric entries, ensuring that the most representative and advanced fabrics from the local industry are showcased.
According to officials from the Shishi Fabric Association, around 60 companies are expected to participate in the upcoming China Popular Fabric Finalist review activities. Several enterprises have already registered, with over 20 more having received application forms. As a national base for leisure fabrics, Shishi's fabric market has built a unique "R&D-driven trade" model. Many local fabric companies possess strong capabilities in new product development. The Shishi Fabric Association plays a key role in guiding and leading its members to participate in such events, showcasing its strong organizational strength and cohesion.
"Although we will recommend products, they will still be strictly evaluated according to established standards and procedures to ensure quality," said a representative from the association. Xiao Wang, from the National Textile Product Development Center, emphasized that the partnership with the Shishi Fabric Association would help bring more high-quality and innovative fabric products to the forefront.
Shishi's fabric market continues to follow the "R&D-oriented trade" model, leveraging partnerships with renowned research institutes to develop new fabric products each year. Over 3,000 new fabric varieties are introduced annually, many of which hold industry-leading positions, particularly in casual fabric development. Since the start of this year, several leading fabric companies in Shishi have made significant progress in developing plant-based fabrics such as modified fiber fabrics, ultra-thin high-density fabrics, hollow fiber fabrics, and bamboo charcoal fiber fabrics. These innovations have led to the creation of a series of highly competitive new fabric products, reinforcing Shishi's position as a leader in textile innovation.
