Changchun silk sampling failed 80%

In the fourth quarter of 2013, Changchun City Administration for Industry and Commerce carried out quality monitoring of silk products in some wholesale markets and shopping malls in urban areas.

The monitoring is based on GB18401 "National Safety Technical Code for Textile Products", GB5296.4 "Guidelines for the use of consumer products Textiles and Apparel" and national or industrial standards for product identification. The entrusted inspection agency has instructions on the use of silk, fiber composition, and water resistance. The color fastness, color fastness to acid and alkali perspiration, color fastness to dry and wet rubbing, formaldehyde, pH value, pilling, and filling material quality deviation rate were examined. A total of 10 batches of samples were sampled, of which only 2 batches were qualified, and the sampling failure rate was 80%.

1. There are no washing instructions on the tag and durability labels;

2. The fiber content and specification number are not marked on the durability label;

3. The fiber composition and content of the filler are not marked on the durable fiber label;

4. Marked obsolete mandatory safety standards;

5. washing instructions tag identity and durability label information is inconsistent;

6. There is no product quality rating;

7. Label only the fiber name on the fiber label of the fabric or filler.

8. The pH is not qualified.

The Changchun City Bureau of Industry and Commerce requires that, from the date of publication, unqualified commodity operators should stop selling unqualified products. Remind consumers to pay attention to product identification, certificate, product-related information, and suspected counterfeit and inferior products.
