Recently, the Pukou District Industry and Commerce Bureau received a complaint from a jewelry brand, saying that a jewelry store located in Tangquan Street, Pukou District is selling jade articles and gold ornaments that counterfeit their brands, infringing their trademark rights. In addition to the logo, the jewelry store also misled consumers during the sales process, claiming that this is a famous brand of products.
After receiving the report, the law enforcement officers of the industrial and commercial offices in the area immediately rushed to the jewelry store. After on-site inspections, law enforcement officers found that the jade and gold ornaments that were being sold in the store did have a “brand nameâ€, and the store owner could not provide the relevant documents such as the purchase ticket for these products.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers illegally detained 39 pieces of jade ornaments and 3 pieces of gold ornaments allegedly infringed.
The owner of the jewelry store finally admitted that these jade articles and gold ornaments were purchased from a jade wholesale market in Putian, Fujian at the beginning of this year. Law enforcement officers calculated according to the price tag of the goods in the store and the confession of the store owner. The value of the infringing jewelry is about 10,000 yuan.
In the end, the owner of the jewelry store violated the relevant provisions of the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China, the infringing goods were confiscated, and the industrial and commercial department imposed a fine of 20,000 yuan on the owner.
