Liu Jiajun, professor of the State Key Laboratory of Geological Processes and Mineral Resources at China University of Geosciences (Beijing), said that in September 2005, he conducted field research in the Shiti mining area of ​​Shaanxi in the Dabashan area, in the poisonous heavy stone-barite-quartz vein. Yellow-green, dark-green flake minerals were observed, much like mica. In order to obtain accurate data of this mineral, Liu Jiajun overcomes the difficulties of small sample size and complex mineral composition. He has collected samples from the field twice and conducted multiple analyses on minerals such as chemical analysis, electron probe analysis and infrared spectrum analysis. . From the discovery of minerals to the declaration of new minerals to the International Minerals Association's New Minerals and Minerals Nomenclature Commission, it was approved for nearly five years.
At present, the full specimen of the new Hanjiang Stone mineral has been preserved in the China Geological Museum. Experts believe that the discovery of new minerals in the "Hanjiang Stone" has special significance for the study of new minerals in China and the world.
