Why does the Queen always wear a three strand pearl necklace?

We seldom know the personal life of His Majesty the Queen – although Prince Phillip's cute nickname for his wife was recently revealed – so when we do, we relish in it. And now, during the public events, the real reason why Queen Elizabeth has never seen her without her three pearl necklaces has been revealed, and it's all sorts of lovely. And if that's not enough, the Queen was then gifted another one in 1953 by the Emir of Qatar, which featured a diamond clasp, lucky girl!
